You got to love this man, he’s got an amazing voice and his picking guitar style is unique. I discovered this songster several months ago in London, listening musicat a friends home…he seems to be well respected here in England.
Hi Jay !
Ya, old ones as usual and perhaps the songs few have heard the original, but I upload what I like, so I dont care about stars and so forth, but I appreciate good comments and listening, so
Ya, I wish there were some video of this song by G Davis, but I’m glad we have the sound. The best sound you can get when it comes to ragtime-blues guitar.
i think you one reason we can call him reverend is becasue he was/is a teacher of the blues not just a player.
There is only ONE Rev Gary Davis and that’s all you need to know. His “ragtime-blues”, is just Great !
Thanks for the comment and listening !
Peace Brother !

Thanx Urban,
Another classic !!!!! Jay
Kelsey, you learn it soon.
It’s the G Davis style and as far as I know he always play in the key of C, and sometimes capoed somewhere on the neck. Alternating bass.
C-F-C-G-C-F-C-G-C is the chord progression in a similar song “You Got The Pocketbook And I Got The Key” by G Davis.
Try it !
I think it will do !???
Thanks for the comment and listening !
Peace Bro !
